Augusta "Gus" Steger Sr. (1898–1994) and Idalia Steger (1908–2001) built their lives in Cass County, Texas, at a time when education was hard-won for families like ours. What they could not always access themselves, they passed down as a hope for the generations that followed.

The Augusta and Idalia Stiger/Steger University Family Learning Center carries that hope forward. It is a free, open collection of learning resources — for students, parents, and grandparents alike — offered in their names and in their memory.

This is not a university with a campus. It's a standing commitment: that every member of the Stiger/Steger family, and every family like ours, has a place to keep learning, no matter their age or circumstance.
